Lucifer spoilers follow.
Lucifer writer Ildy Modrovich has revealed an extended final scene for season 6, which suggests that things could have wound up ending a little differently for the titular devil and his partner Chloe Decker.
While the supernatural drama’s last ever instalment, which sees Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) face off against an angry angel named Rory (Deadpool’s Brianna Hildebrand), concluded with him deciding he was better suited to Hell than being a new God.

The last episode ends with Lucifer becoming a therapist, having been inspired to do so by his mortal friend Linda Martin (Rachael Harris). Rather than condemning souls to the underworld for all eternity, Lucifer realises he can help struggling humans overcome their past and eventually make it into the Silver City.
Having left Earth once again, Lucifer is surprised when a knock at his door reveals Chloe (Lauren German), who explains she’s ready to assist him in his self-appointed new job, and the pair share a silent kiss as a red light reveals the devil’s office is back open for business.
On Wednesday (September 15), though, Modrovich shared a clip on Instagram that proved the moment had a little more to it in the original script.
“Spoiler alert ahead! After our lovely live chat with John Siuntres on his Word Balloon podcast, a few peeps asked if we had that extended ending I mentioned,” she wrote alongside the video. “Sooo… I dug up this rehearsal.”
In it, Deckerstar actually share a “hello” when Chloe rocks up to his place of work, and can then be seen sitting together in front of two of Lucifer’s patients. Partners in every sense of the word, eh?
Lucifer seasons 1-6 are available to watch now on Netflix.
