Lucifer season 6 showrunner teases how the final season will end

Lucifer’s 6th and final season aims to leave viewers with a “sense of peace” according to screenwriter Chris Rafferty.

Known for penning episodes such as season 1’s ‘A Priest Walks into a Bar’ and season 2’s ‘Monster’, Rafferty spoke to Script magazine about wrapping up the occult detective drama.

“My hope for our audience is that they too have appreciated the journey,” he shared.

“That they’ve enjoyed all the emotions, good and bad, that we’ve guided them through. And that they’ve also found a sense of family, like I have.”

Reflecting on the pressures of working on such a deeply beloved show, Rafferty went on: “I am hyper-aware of the audience’s attachment to these characters and get messages on the daily about wanting the show to last forever. But the world doesn’t work that way.

“All good things come to an end. And my number one goal going into season 6 was to be mindful of that. And to help the audience find some sense of peace by the time it’s over.”

According to the writer, he wanted to shift the focus away from “dreading” Lucifer’s climax and into “appreciating the time we have together”.

Now that’s a philosophy worth adopting.

Lucifer seasons 4 and 5 are available to watch now on Netflix.
