Lucifer will return for season 6 next month and the trailer has left fans with many questions. What is the reason behind Chloe attacking Lucifer?
Lucifer has been on Netflix for the past five years but sadly, the fantasy drama is almost done and dusted. Season six will be landing on the streaming service in a matter of weeks, with Netflix releasing the final trailer. But as always, the promo has provided more questions rather than answers.
Why will Chloe attack Lucifer?
The trailer for the sixth and final season of Lucifer was released last week by Netflix.
While the entirety of the promo got viewers excited for what’s to happen next, the ending did leave viewers confused.
Chloe (played by Lauren German) is seen telling boyfriend Lucifer (Tom Ellis): “We still have one mystery left to solve.
“The murder of Lucifer Morningstar.”
Lucifer is then seen looking taken aback by Chloe before a fight between them breaks out. With a knife in her hand, she lunges at Lucifer, trying to strike with him the blade. Chloe is then somehow able to pin the Devil to the ground with the knife pointed at his chest.
The trailer then finishes with a bewildered Lucifer stating: “I certainly did not see this coming”.
Taking to Reddit, some fans have been asking about the backstory to this fight. One fan believes it could be the newly cast Brianna Hildebrand, who plays Lucifer’s sister Rory, disguised as Chloe.
They wrote: “The easy answer is that it’s not really Chloe, or that isn’t really Lucifer.
“We may know the new angel’s name, but we don’t know what her angel power is. It might be shapeshifting.”
But there are various other theories as to what this fight scene could mean. Another Reddit user commented: “I’m pretty sure Chloe is holding on to Amenadiel’s necklace which is giving her super-strength.
“I think Maze taught her how to fight which she is using against Lucifer. Just a guess though.”
While another said: “I don’t think she is trying to kill him. I think the trailer is misleading.
“I think Lucifer is testing her fighting skills in case she needs to fight Rory/demons. We saw her fighting Maze in the trailer also.”
Lucifer will sadly be coming to an end after six seasons. The series was originally airing on FOX when it was cancelled by the network and then saved by Netflix. However, this will be the end of Lucifer’s journey with series six marking the finishing line.
Season six of Lucifer is going to be out on the streaming service on Friday, September 10.
