Lucifer: Video Reveals Tom Ellis and Lauren German in tears for final farewell ‘Incredible journey’

Lucifer’s leading stars struggled to contain their emotions in the latest video from behind the scenes of the Netflix series’ sixth and final instalment.

TV set decorator and behind the scenes guru Joshua Coleman has posted his latest insightful video from the set of Lucifer’s sixth season on Instagram. As fans get ready for the second half of the Netflix sensation’s fifth outing, the cast and crew are already saying their emotional goodbyes to the wildly popular fantasy series.

Tom Ellis has delivered a tearful speech to the Lucifer team in a new video from behind the scenes of season six.

Frequent poster and crew member Joshua Coleman revealed a sneak peek at the long-running series’ wrap party on Instagram on Thursday night.

He captioned the post: “Our last day on the Lucifer set was magical, bittersweet and full of love and emotions.”

The backstage footage revealed a bittersweet last day on set as the cast and crew celebrated finalising the last ever episodes of the popular fantasy drama.

Coleman’s video also included heartbreaking clips of Ellis and German, who both appeared saddened to be saying goodbye to Lucifer and Chloe Decker for the last time.

Even before filming had officially wrapped, Lauren German was tearful as she removed her character’s name from her trailer.

She started off the video, saying: “You guys, it’s been a good run, I swear.”

“I don’t wanna go home, I don’t want it to be over,” she added, before covering the camera with her hand.

After its original cancellation from Fox after just three seasons, the series was granted a new lease on life on Netflix, who renewed Lucifer for a surprise sixth season to finish the story last year.

Although the release date for Lucifer season six has yet to be confirmed, the series is all but guaranteed to conclude before the end of 2022, and possibly sooner.

The Netflix hit has proved a star-making success for the cast, especially Welsh actor Tom Ellis, previously known for his stint on BBC comedy Miranda.

In the new video, Ellis delivered a heartfelt speech to the cast and crew as the show’s season six celebrations got underway.

He said: “I’ve never had an experience like this in my life, I don’t think I’ll ever have one again.

“It’s been the most incredible f*****g journey, from start to finish.”

Co-showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson also made appearances to deliver their passionate thank yous to Tom Ellis and the rest of the cast.

Modrovich told the star: “You’re truly one of the most generous people I’ve ever met.”

Coleman’s poignant tribute to Lucifer’s cast and hard-working production team was naturally met with moving responses from the show’s followers.

One emotional fan replied: “I’m too emotional seeing Lauren like that.”

And another added: “Omg I just cried hearing Tom made me cry even more.”

Thankfully, Lucifer hasn’t quite come to an end for the fans just yet, and Netflix subscribers only have two weeks to wait before the next chapter is finally unveiled.

Lucifer Season 5, Part 2 will be released on Netflix on Friday, May 28.
