The 6th and final season of Lucifer is set to have fewer episodes than expected.

TV Line reports that the 6th season will be only 10 episodes – six fewer than its fifth season which is being released in two parts.

Season 5a came out on 21th August and followers are  going to have to wait a while until the second batch of episodes. Therefore, the begging of this month it was said that the series is looking to have the star Tom Ellis, Lauren German and co return to work from Thursday, 24th September in order to finish the final episodes of the season.

The release of the news also stated that the team and crew will begin filming season 6 after wrapping its predecessor.

The last month, Kevin Alejandro, the star who plays homicide detective Dan Espinoza, shared that the last few episodes in the 5th instalment had to undergo some last-minute plot changes, when Netflix dropped the news that it wasn’t going to be the last ever season as previously planned.

“All of us went into it, and continued throughout the journey, up until the episode before the last one, thinking this was our series finale. That this [season five] was the show finale,” said the actor, who directed the action-packed 5A finale.

“Obviously we’re all super, super excited, just surprised. As a result, the team have had to make some tweaks to the season five finale, in order for us to get the ultimate season five possible.”
