Lucifer’s producers have given fans with an update on the release of season 5B, admitting they don’t have a clue when it will be released.

Echoing the recent words of showrunner Ildy Modrovich, the Netflix show’s writers revealed on Twitter that the coronavirus pandemic threw their plans up in the air.

“We know everyone wants to know, but truth is even WE don’t know when #LuciferSeason5B will come out. It’s not finished yet,” they tweeted.

“The pandemic blew up our plans. But when we have an official release date, trust us, we’re dying to let you know! Same with a trailer. #patience”

Modrovich herself tweeted herself in response to fan questions over a release date last month: “Oh my dearest demons, if only I knew!!! We’ll tell you as soon as we know and are given the green light to share.”

While the second half of season 5 still isn’t with us, things are already under way for Lucifer’s sixth and final season, with the writers previously releasing titles for the last batch of episodes.

One in particular – namely ‘The Murder of Lucifer Morningstar’ – has us all rather worried, however.

The show could just be teasing us, of course, as the series is known for messing fans around with cheeky spoilers. At least, we hope that’s the case…
