“Hey, what’s up? It’s Michael C. Hall,” the actor shared in a video posted to Showtime Dexter’s official Instagram page. “I am on the set for the first official day of production for Dexter: Resurrection. I’m looking forward to another thrill ride, and when all is said and done, to you taking the ride with us. Stay tuned,” he added.

Although an official synopsis for Dexter: Resurrection has yet to be released, fans caught a glimpse of the story’s continuation in Dexter: Original Sin. The prequel series, which airs new episodes every Friday, reveals what happened immediately after Dexter was shot by his son Harrison in Dexter: New Blood. The premiere episode shocked viewers, showing that Dexter survived the incident. During surgery, Dexter experiences a “life flashes before your eyes” moment, revisiting his past as portrayed by Patrick Gibson, who plays a younger version of Dexter as a serial killer-in-training.
Clyde Phillips, who served as showrunner for Dexter: New Blood, returns to executive produce and lead the upcoming series. Michael C. Hall is also an executive producer, alongside Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns. Marcos Siega will serve as the producing director for the series, with Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios managing production. Dexter: Resurrection will be distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
