Netflix has officially announced the commencement of production for the second season of *Berlín*, the spinoff of *La Casa de Papel*, which remains one of the Top 10 most-watched non-English language series in Netflix’s history.
Pedro Alonso reprises his role as the charismatic Berlin, leading his gang once again. The returning cast includes Michelle Jenner (*Isabel*) as Keila, an expert in electronic engineering; Tristán Ulloa (*The Asunta Case*) as Damián, a philanthropic professor and Berlin’s confidant; Begoña Vargas (*Welcome to Eden*) as Cameron, a thrill-seeker who lives on the edge; Julio Peña Fernández (*Through My Window*) as Roi, Berlin’s faithful squire; and Joel Sánchez as Bruce, the gang’s relentless man of action.
This season shifts the action to Spain, where the heist unfolds in Seville. Berlin and his crew will cross paths with new characters, including Candela, an unpredictable and passionate Sevillian woman portrayed by Inma Cuesta (*The Mess You Left Behind*). Joining her are the eccentric Duke of Málaga, Álvaro Hermoso de Medina, played by José Luis García-Pérez (*Honor*), and his enigmatic, refined wife, the Duchess of Málaga, Genoveva Dante, portrayed by Marta Nieto (*Mother*).
The second season consists of eight episodes, created by *La Casa de Papel* and *Sky Rojo* masterminds Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato. The writing team includes Pina, Martínez Lobato, David Barrocal, Lorena G. Maldonado, and Itziar San Juan. Directing the episodes are Albert Pintó (*Nowhere, Sky Rojo*), David Barrocal (*Sky Rojo, El refugio atómico*), and José Manuel Cravioto (*El refugio atómico, Diablero*).
Filming is set to take place over several weeks in Madrid, Seville, San Sebastián, and various other locations across Spain.
Upon its debut, the first season of *Berlín* was the most-watched series globally and reached the Top 10 in 91 countries. The series continues to rank among Netflix’s Top 20 most-watched non-English language series, solidifying its international success.
