Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins have officially joined the fifth and final season of “The Boys” as guest stars, marking a highly anticipated reunion with their former “Supernatural” co-star, Jensen Ackles.

While specific details about their roles remain undisclosed, the announcement has already generated significant excitement among fans. “The Boys” creator Eric Kripke has previously expressed his desire to bring Padalecki onto the show. In an interview with Variety last year, Kripke stated, “I feel like I have to complete my game of ‘Supernatural’ Pokémon, and I have my one big one—very big one—left to catch.” He later confirmed that he had been in discussions with Padalecki regarding a role in the final season, emphasizing his enthusiasm for working with actors he admires.

Padalecki and Collins are not the only “Supernatural” alumni to join “The Boys.” In addition to Ackles, who portrays Soldier Boy, the series has also featured Jim Beaver as Robert Singer, Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Joe Kessler, and Rob Benedict as Splinter. Their involvement further solidifies the connection between the two fan-favorite franchises.

Padalecki starred alongside Ackles on “Supernatural” for 15 seasons, from its debut on The WB in 2005 to its series finale in 2020. Collins was a major presence on the show as well, portraying Castiel and multiple other characters across 12 seasons.

Currently in production, the fifth and final season of “The Boys” boasts an ensemble cast that includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Nathan Mitchell, Chace Crawford, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Giancarlo Esposito.

The franchise has continued to expand beyond the main series. The college-set spinoff “Gen V” premiered in 2023 and was renewed for a second season. Additionally, “The Boys Presents: Diabolical,” an adult animated spinoff, was released, with another upcoming project, “Vought Rising,” set to star Padalecki.

With the final season of “The Boys” on the horizon, the addition of Padalecki and Collins adds another layer of excitement to an already highly anticipated conclusion to the hit series.
