Outlander has told fans the love story of Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) for the last 7 seasons. But with Season 8, we have to say goodbye to our favorite couple who have been together despite time trying to keep them apart. The series, based on the popular books by Diana Gabaldon, is a cultural phenomenon for a reason. With this final season, fans are on edge to see what is going to happen with Jamie and Claire as they try to keep their family together despite the wars, traveling through time, and more.
At San Diego Comic-Con, fans were given a look into the final season of the hit series with the brand-new Season 8 trailer. The footage begins with a regaling of everything fans have loved about the long-running series for over a decade, filled to the brim with time-travel shenanigans, epic large-scale battles, and, of course, an abridged version of Jamie and Claire’s relationship thus far. Towards the end of the trailer, we get a bit more insight into what will happen in Season 8, with Jamie reading a particularly special book from the future promising an impending war, and one that he is supposed to die in.
In between the panel for Outlander and the new series Outlander: Blood of My Blood, Raya Yarbrough took to stage to perform the iconic theme song from the series, “The Skye Boat Song.” It was a live version, including a sing-along with fans and a concert version with bagpipers! So even though Outlander may be coming to an end, they signed the series off with a pretty epic Hall H panel!
