Is Outlander star Sam Heughan trading the Scottish Highlands for the Wild West?
The Outlander star rocked a black cowboy hat and posed for a selfie with two police officers in Harris County, Texas, in a photo he shared on Thursday.
He captioned the snap, “Everyone is friendly in Texas!.”

Of course, the comments section pretty much exploded.
“Next purchase…cowboy jeans and boots…belt…buckle…..button up shirt…..almost as swoon worthy as a man in kilt,” one fan wrote.
“You look so natural in a cowboy hat,” another commented. “It’d be cool to see you cast in a Western!”
It’s not clear when the photo was taken, but Heughan, 42, was in Texas earlier this month to promote his Sassenach Wild Scottish Gin.
Heughan delighted fans in Houston as well as the Texas capital of Austin, where he sat for a meet and greet and signed bottles of the latest addition to his Sassenach spirits brand,
He wrapped his tour in Los Angeles on Aug. 15.
Heughan may also be rubbing elbows with the boys in blue because of an upcoming role he has on STARZ.
In the miniseries The Couple Next Door, Heughan will star as a traffic cop who shares a passionate night with his beautiful but troubled neighbor, which sets off a series of life-changing events for them both.
If nothing else, Heughan’s sexy Stetson snap proves that Heughan could fit right in with Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe once Outlander wraps its final season (we’re willing this into the world). That said, he’s not in a rush for Outlander to end.
Heughan previously said finishing filming Season 7 made the end of the hit series feel “tangible” to him for the first time.
“We realized we were only going to come back and do it once more, but having said that, I think in this moment, we have so much to look forward to … We get the opportunity to come back and really finish it in a satisfactory way,” he said. “In a way that may not please everyone, but at least we get the chance to come back and finish the story and that’s what I wanted to do. I wanted to finish the story. It’s been such a big part of my life.”
