Peaky Blinders star Finn Cole’s new Netflix movie has confirmed a release date – and it’s soon.
The streaming platform has announced that Locked In, which is directed by Nour Wazzi and written by by Rowan Joffé, will be released on November 1.
The psychological thriller is set to pit unhappy newlywed Lina (Sanditon’s Rose Williams) against her “once-famous, brittle” mother-in-law Katherine (X-Men’s Famke Janssen).
The official synopsis continues: “An elicit passionate affair sets Lina onto a journey of secrecy, betrayal, murder… and a plot to seemingly destroy her. But who is the real victim, and who can she really trust?”
Cole, who’s perhaps best known for his role as Michael Gray in Peaky Blinders, plays Lina’s new spouse.
Other cast members include His Dark Materials star Alex Hassell and Marcella’s Anna Friel.
Cole bid farewell to his Peaky Blinders character in the season six finale last year. Michael’s fate means it is unlikely he will return for the planned Peaky Blinders film, which creator Steven Knight has said will serve as the seventh and final chapter.
Marking the show’s 10-year anniversary last month, Knight assured fans that the “story isn’t over yet”.
“It hardly seems believable that it’s 10 years since Tommy Shelby first rode that black horse through the streets of Birmingham,” he said.
“The phenomenal global success of the show is down to the brilliance and hard work of the loyal team that makes it happen. 10 years on and the story is not yet over. Watch this space.”
Locked In will premiere November 1 on Netflix.
