Actor James Frecheville has joined the cast of Peaky Blinders for the show’s upcoming sixth season.
The 29-year-old Australian is best known for his role in the Australian film Animal Kingdom as Joshua “J” Cody, a confused teenager and youngest member of a criminal family in Melbourne’s underworld.
At the 2010 Sundance Film Festival (where the film won the World Cinema Jury Prize, Dramatic), The Hollywood Reporter described Frecheville as “a brilliant casting choice.”
The actor has also starred in Requiem, Black 47 and The Dry, as well as The Stanford Prison Experiment, The Drop and two episodes of New Girl, Birmingham Live reports.
The reveal on the Peaky Blinders social media accounts racked up 10,000 likes.
Other cast members returning to season six include the likes of Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson and Cillian Murphy.
Earlier this year, in January, it was announced that series six, which had just begun filming, would be the final television series of the Birmingham based gang drama, though creator Steven Knight revealed: “the story will continue in another form”.
Charlie Murphy will not return as Jessie Eden, the actress last week announced.
