Reacher’s season two premiere has got that much closer with Prime Video confirming that the action thriller will return later this year.

The small screen outing of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher got the green light for its second season over a year ago.

But now in a Prime Video teaser trailer of what to expect this year, it has been revealed that Alan Ritchson will be back as Reacher this December.

The short Reacher clip starts with Ritchson looking at the camera, and then a voiceover states: “I’m providing you a chance to walk away.”

As the line is spoken a visual shows him walking towards a car and punching the driver’s side window.

Another short clip shows a pensive Reacher in a suit looking out, while we also see him walking on a busy sidewalk.

Back in December, Amazon Studios’ head of television Vernon Sanders gave a promising Reacher update to Collider

“It’s going really well,” he said. “Alan is back, and he is so fantastic in the role. I’m so proud of the producers [for] finding that fit for Reacher. The Reacher fans of the book, their reaction to the show has just been a dream.

“Season 2 is awesome. And as great as season 1 was, I think season 2 delivers beyond that, and I do think there’s a good chance that that show will be back next year.”

Filming on the second season began in September, and will adapt a different Lee Child novel (specifically, the 11th book in the series, Bad Luck and Trouble).

Reacher season 2 will air on Prime Video in December.
