Riverdale star has been cast in Chloe Grace Moretz’s new TV series

Eli Goree has landed the co-lead role in The Peripheral, an upcoming series from Amazon, where he’ll be playing the role of Conner, according to Deadline.

Fans will know Eli as Munroe ‘Mad Dog’ Moore in The CW show, while he’s also popped up as Ernest Dawson in GLOW, Wells Jaha in The 100, and Marcus in Supernatural. His acting credits also stretch to movies, most recently starring as Cassius Clay in One Night In Miami.

Chloë is already attached to the project in the lead role as Flynne alongside Transformers: Age of Extinction star Jack Reynor, who will play the third lead as her character’s brother, Burton.

The Peripheral is based on the 2014 sci-fi book of the same name William Gibson and is described as being “a dazzling, hallucinatory glimpse into the fate of mankind — and what lies beyond”. Mysterious!

It’s not clear how closely the series will follow the book, though the novel tells the story of Burton, a Marine Corps veteran who gets hired for a security job he believes is in cyberspace.

Flynne temporarily takes his place and becomes witness to something very sinister, which could well be murder.

Eli’s One Night In Miami is also an Amazon project and is Watchmen star Regina King’s directorial debut.

In a statement, Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, called Regina a “force of nature” and said the movie “beautifully captures a significant moment in history when these great minds gathered and ultimately helped shape the conversation of what we know today as the civil rights movement”.

It tells the story of a fictional meeting between Cassius Clay (who later went on to become Muhammad Ali), Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown.
