Sam Heughan has revealed his favourite Outlander scene and it will melt the heart of fans.
The Outlander actor has been playing Highland heartthrob Jamie Fraser since 2013 and viewers are still obsessed with the beloved actor. In a recent interview, Sam, 43, was asked if he could pick out his favourite scene between Jamie and Claire Fraser, who is played by Caitriona Balfe.
The Balmaclellan-born actor, who is a self-confessed hopeless romantic, chose the season one wedding between Jamie and Claire as his favourite moment out of the six series released. When asked by Buzzfeed News, Sam smiled and quipped: “There’s a lot of love in Outlander…
“You know, it always goes back to season 1,” he added. “The wedding, I think, is, you know – new love right? People falling in love.”
This comes after a new Outlander trailer dropped, allowing fans to get a hint towards the penultimate season, as Jamie and Claire get caught up in the middle of the American Revolution.
“I’m not as brave as I was before, you ken?” Jamie can be heard saying towards the beginning of the trailer. “Not brave enough to live without you anymore.”
Later, Claire says: “I’d hoped that Jamie would stay away from it, but maybe he’s supposed to be there. Maybe he always was.”
According to an official synopsis: “Season seven picks up from the harrowing events of the end of season six, with Jamie and Young Ian racing to rescue Claire before she’s tried and wrongfully convicted for the murder of Malva Christie.
“But their mission is complicated by the beginning of a geopolitical firestorm: The American Revolution has arrived. In the seventh season of Outlander” Jamie, Claire, and their family are caught in the violent birth pains of an emerging nation as armies march to war and British institutions crumble in the face of armed rebellion.”
Outlander is coming to an end after the eighth season, which is likely to air next year, as Heughan discussed the bittersweet decision.
Speaking on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast Sam told host Josh Horowitz: “We didn’t know where we were going to be with it. And we finally came to that decision, that agreement and we obviously have one more to shoot.
“But yeah, at the end of this season seven, suddenly you could feel it on set. Everyone was starting to go ‘oh, actually, we’re gonna come back and do this one more time and that’s it’ and it’s everyone was getting pretty emotional about it.
“I think it’s gonna be a huge change in our lives and also really sad to say goodbye.”
