Netflix has announced that season 2 of The Witcher is set to hit our screens this December.
The fantasy drama, which is based on a series of novels of the same name by polish author Andrezj Sapkowski, has been really well received by Netflix viewers, scoring an impressive 8.2/10 on IMDb.
This is no doubt due to the incredible acting talent boasted by the show, which includes fan favourite and former Superman, Henry Cavill.
The season 2 trailer which came out on Friday, July 9 promises more of the same, with a whole host of fresh faces joining Cavill in the magical, medieval world that is ‘the Continent’.
Who is in The Witcher season 2 cast?
Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen
This Norwegian actor is best known for his role as Tormund Giantsbane in HBO’s Game of Thrones, though you might also recognise him as Connor Rhodes in The Fast and the Furious franchise.
In The Witcher, he’s been cast as Nivellen, a cursed man with beastly magic who falls for Lydia in a Beauty and The Beast-like storyline.
Yasen Atour as Coen
Yasen Atour is a British producer and actor who played Jacob in the 2016 Roman epic, Ben-Hur.
His debut on the entertainment scene came in 2012 when he produced the comedy short, Iranglish, about the confusion that ensues in a British prison due to a non-English speaking cellmate’s struggle to communicate.
He will be joining The Witcher cast as Coen, a Kaer Morhen swordsman tasked with training Princess Ciri.
Agnes Born as Vereena
The Witcher will be Agnes Born’s biggest role to date having previously only starred in Nordic productions such as the crime thriller series Monster and short film, Just a Thought.
She’ll be playing Vereena in The Witcher, a bruxa (vampire) whose storyline is also closely linked to Nivellen.
Paul Bullion as Lambert
British actor Paul is best known for his portrayal of Billy Kitchen, in popular BBC period drama Peaky Blinders
He’ll appear in the Witcher as Lambert, a Kaer Morhen Witcher from the School of Wolf.
Thue Ersted Rasmussen as Eskel
Thue Ersted Rasmussen is a Danish actor who appeared as Otto in the ninth film of the Fast and Furious saga F9.
He plays Eskel in The Witcher, another School of Wolf Witcher whose known for his relaxed disposition.
Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia
Aisha Fabienne Ross starred alongside Eddie Redmayne in The Danish Girl and was also in the 2016 thriller, Alleycats.
Lydia, her character in The Witcher, is a sorceress and the love interest of Nivellen.
Mecia Simpson as Francesca
Mecia Simpson is a British model and actress who competed in the 5th season of Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model. She also has a cameo role in the 2020 dystopian series Brave New World.
She appears in The Witcher as Francesca, the Elf Queen of Dol Blathanna.
Key season 1 cast members, Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey will also be returning when season 2 airs.
When is The Witcher season 2 release date?
