The star from Stranger Things,Millie Bobby Brown almost quited acting after Game of Thrones rejected her.
Imagine a world where Stranger Things heroine Eleven was played by somebody other than Millie Bobby Brown.
In a recent stint on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the British actress revealed she considered quitting acting before her big break.
“This industry is just full of rejection, 24/7. You get far more nos – a lot of nos – before you get a yes,” she told the chat show host.
Millie went on to recall: “I was auditioning for commercials, for anything, really. I then auditioned for Game of Thrones and I got a ‘no’ for that. Then that’s kind of when I was like, ‘Oh, this is really difficult,’ because I guess I really wanted that role.”
Following this rejection, the star went up for a Netflix sci-fi show titled Montauk, which was her last attempt at kickstarting an acting career.
“Two months later, they just got back to us and was like ‘We’d love to Skype with you’. I Skyped with them and, you know, the rest is history, of course.
“We then named the show Stranger Things, but Montauk was definitely the one that gave me that kind of hope of doing it all again,” she added.
Meanwhile, the in-development Amy Winehouse biopic seems to have caught Millie’s eye.
