Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has spilled the details of an epic prank that the Netflix show’s cast and crew played on her co-star Noah Schnapp while filming season four.

The actress, who has played Eleven on the sci-fi drama since it first began in 2016, revealed what the team had done to Schnapp while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, calling Will Byers star Schnapp “the biggest prankster of them all”.

“I too am pretty bad but he goes to great extents, so we thought as a crew that we needed to get him back,” she explained.

“So it was 4am, we were in New Mexico, he was on set and it was the last night of shooting. So we thought, what better way to get him than to get him to base camp, and we had trash bins filled with water balloons all around, and we turned all the lights off at base camp.”

Brown explained that she had then put the next phase of the plan into action by phoning Schnapp and pretending to cry, claiming that she was really upset that he wasn’t around to say goodbye to her and asking him to come to base camp – but once he arrived, the cast and crew had a devious plan up their sleeves.

“He gets to base camp, I’m like: ‘Noah, I got you a present, you know,'” she said. “And I get him in the middle of the car park and all of us, about 20 people, raid him, absolutely invade him and it’s bad. It was bad.”

She added that Schnapp gave as good as he got but still ended up being attacked with water balloons for around 15 minutes – and that she’s now “terrified” that her co-star is out to get her back.

It sounds like it’s just as scary behind the scenes on Stranger Things as it is in front of the camera…

The first part of season four of Stranger Things will finally drop on Netflix later this month and fan anticipation is at a high, with the show’s stars having been dropping teasing hints about what we can expect.

Max Mayfield actress Sadie Sink has called season four “the most bizarre season we’ve ever had” and revealed that “the scale of it is out of this world”, while production designer Barrie Gower has shared some details on a terrifying new monster called the Vecna.

Stranger Things season 4 will premiere in two parts, on May 27 and July 1, streaming on Netflix.
