Dear Zoe, starring Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink, finally has a UK release date.
Dear Zoe is based on the novel of the same name by Philip Beard and follows Tess (Sink) and her family suffering a terrible loss during a historical event. She finds support from her biological father (Army of the Dead’s Theo Rossi), who has struggles of his own.
This coming-of-age movie will release on UK digital platforms on 7 November 2022. The movie is directed by Gren Wells, who also directed The Road Within and A Little Bit of Heaven. Joining Sink in the movie are Justin Bartha, who is best known for his roles in The Hangover and National Treasure, plus Vivien Lyra Blair (Obi-Wan Kenobi), and Jessica Capshaw (Grey’s Anatomy).
Sink delivered a powerhouse performance in this year’s season four of Stranger Things and while she missed out on an Emmy nomination, many lauded her performance as one of the year’s very best.
Sink plays Max in Stranger Things, with her character taking centre stage in season four after the villainous Vecna possessed her. Max met a tragic fate in the end and finished the season in a coma in hospital.
It is unknown if she will ever recover, but she will feature in season five of the acclaimed Netflix series.
This year could get even better for Sink. She also stars in A24’s The Whale, which is directed by Darren Aronofsky and stars Brendan Fraser as a 600-pound man trying to reconnect with his 17-year-old daughter (Sink). Fraser is tipped by many to earn an Oscar nomination for best actor for the role – and may even win.
Stranger Things seasons 1-4 are now streaming worldwide on Netflix.
