Supernatural alum Jeffrey Dean Morgan teases his mystery role in Prime Video’s The Boys Season 4 with a script photo (but good luck reading it).

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is gearing up for his mystery role in the upcoming fourth season of Prime Video’s The Boys.

On Instagram, Morgan shared a photo of a script from The Boys Season 4, which can be seen sitting atop a fence with a cup resting on top of it. “Oh OhOh [The Boys]. Hope you ready for me… cuz I sure as shit ready for you! Memorizing as I run the fence line. A damn fine day… at least until I find the broken fence,” the actor wrote. Jeffrey Dean Morgan Joins The Boys

Morgan was originally in talks to join the cast of The Boys for the superhero satire’s third season. However, plans for the actor to appear in Season 3 fell through due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Things worked out in the end, though, with the Supernatural alum ultimately being tapped to join the cast of Season 4.

Morgan’s undisclosed role in The Boys Season 4 marks a reunion with series creator Eric Kripke, who also created The WB/The CW’s Supernatural, on which Morgan starred as John Winchester. Morgan is the latest Supernatural star to make the jump to The Boys, with Jensen Ackles having joined the fray as Soldier Boy in Season 3. Morgan is also no stranger to superhero and comic book-based projects, having appeared in such films as Watchmen and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, as well as on AMC’s The Walking Dead. He is attached to star in an upcoming spinoff series titled The Walking Dead: Dead City.

The Boys Returns for Season 4

Based on the comic book series of the same name created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys premiered its first season on Prime Video in July 2019. The show returned for a second season in September 2020 and a third in June 2022. Production on Season 4 kicked off this past August. Additionally, production on the spinoff series Gen V wrapped in September.

The Boys Seasons 1-3 are currently streaming.
