The Boys star Aya Cash has landed the lead role in the brand new horror-thriller A Void.
Cash will be joined by The Blair Witch Project’s Joshua Leonard and Hail Caesar’s Alison Pill, as well as director Matt D’Elia, who also stars.
D’Elia, whose directorial debut American Animal premiered in 2013, also serves as writer on the film, which is described as a “genre-bending relationship horror-thriller” by Variety.
A Void will tell the story of Sarah and Nick, two troubled lovers who move out of the big city to start a brand new life together. Cracks begin to show in their relationship as traumas from their past come to the surface.
Their problems are made worse after making a strange discovery on their new property. The couple stumble upon an anomalous black void that defies all reason and the laws of physics.
Though the titular void makes little sense to our couple, Sarah and Nick try to comprehend what they have found, but scary and bizarre events begin to unfold in their nightmares and day-to-day lives.
The film’s director Matt D’Elia said of the project: “I could not be more excited to make my film, A Void. With uncertainty all around us these days – everywhere we look, in all shapes and forms – I believe this is the best possible time to make this kind of movie. And I’m beyond thrilled for Visit Films to showcase the film at AFM, and to help bring A Void to audiences all around the world.”
Aya Cash, is best known for her stint in season 2 of The Boys as the sadistic and racist Stormfront, though she made a surprise appearance in its third season.
The Boys seasons 1-3 are streaming on Prime Video. Season 4 is in production.
