The Flash star Keiynan Lonsdale has joined the cast of Step Up season 3, taking over the role of Tal from Petrice Jones.
The actor, best known for playing Wally West/Kid Flash in the CW superhero series, joins the YouTube Red-turned-Starz series alongside new additions Enrique Murciano (Without A Trace) and dancer Rebbi Rosie.
The show is inspired by the movie series of the same name, and is set at High Water, a cut-throat performing arts school in Atlanta.
Lonsdale’s character Tal is an Ohio outcast who has risen to become the lead dancer for a massive tour.
Murciano will take on the role of Cruz, a man that hopes to become a high-profile celebrity lawyer with the help of Sage Odom’s (Ne-Yo) murder accusation, while Rosie will play Angel, a woman on the run from London’s organised crime families in the hope of making it at High Water.
Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) also joins as Erin, while Christina Milian (Be Cool) will take over the role of Collette following Naya Rivera’s tragic death last year.
“Naya’s death was a terrible loss to our world that we will, frankly, never stop mourning,” Step Up series creator Holly Sorensen previously said.
“It was almost impossible to consider there could be someone so graceful and loving who could both help us honour our loss, while also bringing a deep reservoir of talent to our show, in so many areas. Christina is an exceptional human and a dazzling performer and we are so happy she has joined our family.”
Terayle Hill has been upped to series regular for season 3 as Marquise, while the likes of Faizon Love, Jade Chynoweth, Carlito Olivero, Terrence Green, Eric Graise and Kendra Oyesanya will all be back.
