Game of Thrones star Kit Harington has joined the cast of Modern Love ahead of the relationship-based comedy-drama’s second season.
Following on from its first outing, which was released on Amazon Prime Video in October 2019, the anthology series is set to explore “love in its multitude of forms – including sexual, romantic, familial, platonic, and self love”.
When it returns later this year, Harington – who famously played Jon Snow in the HBO fantasy show – will be joined on screen by the likes of Free Fire’s Jack Reynor, True Blood’s Anna Paquin, The Haunting of Hill House’s Lulu Wilson, The Politician’s Lucy Boynton, Judas and the Black Messiah breakout Dominique Fishback and Minnie Driver.
Gbenga Akinnagbe, Susan Blackwell, Tom Burke, Zoe Chao, Maria Dizzia, Grace Edwards, Kathryn Gallagher, Garrett Hedlund, Telci Huynh, Nikki M James, Aparna Nancherla, Larry Owens and Zane Pais will also feature.
Isaac Powell, Ben Rappaport, Milan Ray, Miranda Richardson, Marquis Rodriguez, James Scully, Zuzanna Szadkowski, Don Wycherley and Jeena Yi round out the cast.
“We’re so excited to bring a second season of this series to life, and give an opportunity to really shine a light on what matters most,” showrunner John Carney said in a statement.
“With so much uncertainty in our current world, these stories bring truth and love to people everywhere, and I’m so appreciative to be a part of making that happen.”
Since his time on Game of Thrones came to an end a couple of years ago, Harington, who has just welcomed his first child with wife Rose Leslie, has appeared in one episode of Netflix’s Criminal and finished filming Marvel’s eagerly-anticipated superhero movie Eternals.
In the latter, he plays Dane Whitman, a human warrior who wields a mystical sword. His former co-star Richard Madden, Brian Tyree Henry, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, The Walking Dead’s Lauren Ridloff, Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie also star.
