And while much has been kept under wraps about what the trilogy will entail, sources have now claimed the first plot details have been revealed – and they sound pretty gruesome.

When chatting with We Got This Covered, insiders said the films will see Rick (Andrew Lincoln) alive and well after being taken to a human encampment that aims to find a cure for the ‘zombie problem’.

The publication states: ‘Scientists will have a mad side that includes experimenting on unwilling human subjects and being a little bit twisted, as the series’ antagonists tend to be.

‘Furthermore, it’s said that something will happen in season 11 that leads to a number of characters heading out to go rescue Rick and help him escape from where he’s being held.’

The series is already starting to set up Rick’s return, as Michonne’s (Danai Gurira) exit episode saw her set off on a mission to find her man.

King Bach made his debut during the installment, titled What We Became, as the newcomer Bailey, and it seems we haven’t seen the last of him just yet.

Chatting on the Talk Dead To Me podcast, the actor teased he’d be returning to the franchise, but not necessarily in the main run.

‘I mean, yes, definitely a possibility, and there are a lot of rumors about that,’ he teased on the platform.

‘But I’ll just keep it on that note so I don’t get in trouble.’

The 31-year-old continued to mention Bailey’s back story, however, he made sure to keep his cards close to his chest: ‘I think that’s another secret that I cannot reveal.

‘What I can tell you is that I twisted my ankle. A lot of people think, “Was he bit? Is his leg gonna have to be amputated?”’

However, he did go onto reveal we’ll find out that Bailey does recover, adding: ‘No, your boy is going to heal, your boy is going to be fine.’

The Walking Dead season 10 finale is set to air later this year on AMC and NOWTV.
