Meg Donnelly, star of The Winchesters, has teased that the upcoming Season 1 finale of The CW’s hit prequel show may feature guests from the original Supernatural series.

In a recent interview with E! News, Donnelly, who plays Winchester family matriarch Mary Campbell, revealed that fans can potentially expect to see some more familiar faces during the finale of the Supernatural spinoff series. However, the actor noted she can’t be sure what is set to come from the season’s ending. “They’re kind of keeping it as secret from us,” she said. “However, I did hear that it’s gonna be really epic. Lots of fights, lots of drama, and a lot of guests, apparently.” To this, Donnelly reportedly added her “belief” that these guests were indeed Supernatural alum.

Chronicling the origin story of Supernatural’s monster-hunting family, The Winchesters has already seen the return of Jensen Ackles, who starred as Dean Winchester in the long-running show, as narrator. As was also recently revealed, Richard Speight Jr. is set to return to the Supernatural world in his role as Loki, the Norse God of Mischief, for the prequel series, as well as directing several episodes.

The Supernatural Alumni Pass the Torch
Though it’s unknown who else from the original cast may return, Donnelly disclosed in the same interview that she and her fellow lead Drake Rodger received advice from various Supernatural actors, including Jared Padalecki and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. “We went out to dinner in New York after Comic Con with Jensen and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and just heard them talk about the world,” Donnelly explained. “Drake was really excited and was asking him all these questions about John [Winchester], and Jeffrey was just basically like, ‘Hey, listen. This is yours. I just want you to have fun. These are gonna be the best years of your life.'”

The Winchesters’ future is so far unknown, but Ackles has made it clear that he’ll never be done with the role of Dean. “People were like, ‘how hard is it going to be to say goodbye to Dean?’ And I was like, ‘I’m not going to say goodbye to him, and I don’t think I ever will.’ Dean’s a part of me and will forever be.”

Set in the 1970s, The Winchesters follows John Winchester and Mary Campbell as they meet, fall in love and battle dark forces together. Alongside Donnelly and Rodgers (as John Winchester), the ensemble cast of the CW series also includes hunters in training like Carlos Cervantez (Jojo Fleites) and Latika Desai (Nida Khurshid), and the spellcaster Ada Monroe (Demetria McKinney).

The Winchesters airs every Tuesday on The CW and is available to stream on the CW app.
