Wednesday Season 2, Part 2 Promises Twists, Terror, and a Star-Packed Return

The wait is almost over, and it looks like Nevermore is about to get even darker. The second half of Wednesday season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix September 3, following the first four episodes that debuted August 6.

Season 2 picks up with Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams returning to the eerie halls of Nevermore Academy. But her homecoming doesn’t go as planned. A wave of grisly incidents, triggered by mysterious newcomers, drags her back into danger. Long-buried Addams family secrets begin to surface, and once again, Wednesday is thrust into the role of reluctant detective.

“Nothing is what it seems in season 2,” co-creator Miles Millar told Netflix’s Tudum in July 2025. “Wednesday goes into this season thinking she knows Nevermore. It’s the first time she’s returned to a school willingly. But as soon as she gets back, nothing happens that she’s expecting. She thinks she’s going to be in control, that she knows where all the bodies are buried, and she doesn’t.”

The newly released trailer, which dropped August 14, has fans buzzing. It confirms the unexpected return of Gwendoline Christie as Larissa Weems and offers the first glimpse of Lady Gaga in her mysterious new role.

A Chilling Return to Nevermore

Part 2 begins right where the midseason finale left off. After being thrown from a window by Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan), Wednesday wakes up battered but alive in a hospital bed. There, she is greeted by Weems — who appears as a spirit guide despite her death in season 1.

“I am your new spirit guide. Surprise!” Christie’s Weems declares in the trailer, setting the stage for Wednesday’s next battle against mounting threats.

The consequences of Wednesday’s earlier choices also come crashing down. By freeing the dangerous Outcasts from the LOIS (Long-Term Outcast Integration Study), she’s unleashed chaos. Tyler remains a looming menace, and his obsession with Enid (Emma Myers) grows increasingly unstable.

The final four episodes are expected to explore whether Wednesday can restore her psychic powers — a mystery made urgent by her haunting vision of Enid’s death.

A Legendary New Arrival

Gwendoline Christie isn’t the only major presence in the upcoming episodes. Lady Gaga officially joins the cast as Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary Nevermore teacher whose arrival promises to shake things up.

The trailer closes with her chilling voiceover: “Beware. There will be a price to pay.”

What’s Next for Wednesday?

Even before season 2 premiered, Jenna Ortega and director Tim Burton confirmed that Wednesday had already been renewed for a third season. Creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough have even hinted at potential spinoffs.

“It’s something we’re definitely noodling; there are other characters we can look at,” Gough told The Hollywood Reporter in July 2025. Netflix’s Bela Bajaria added, “There’s a lot to explore in the Addams Family.”

When and Where to Watch

Wednesday season 2, part 2 arrives September 3 at 3 a.m. ET, exclusively on Netflix. The first four episodes of season 2 are already streaming, so fans can catch up before the chilling new chapter begins.
