Lucifer season four is available to stream and download on Netflix now and the first three seasons are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video. Season five will be the final series, with 16 episodes split into two halves. Tom Ellis stars as Lucifer Morningstar, one of God’s fallen angels who abandoned hell to live on Earth.

Why didn’t Lucifer die in the series pilot?

Lucifer arrived on Earth after decades of ruling over hell.

Once he arrived in LA, he opened his a nightclub known as Lux and soon joined the LAPD as a civilian consultant.

With him on Earth, Lucifer brought with him his many superpowers, one of which is immortality.

However, as the series progresses, Lucifer soon discovers that his immortality no longer exists when he is around Chloe Decker (played by Lauren German).

On Reddit, one user wrote: “Okay so obviously Chloe makes Lucifer mortal and thus he is able to be injured when he’s around her.

“However, in 01×01 Lucifer was shot by Jimmy Barnes (the producer who killed Delilah) and wasn’t injured.

“Chloe was in the same room as him. I’ve only gone through the whole show once so it’s possible that I missed something, but I’m just wondering if anyone else has noticed this and figured out why he wasn’t hurt.”

Thankfully, there was no major plot hole in Lucifer series one.

Lucifer is vulnerable around Chloe and his immortality does disappear, however, this only becomes apparent when he realises he has romantic feelings for the detective.

However, one user on Reddit offered an alternative theory.

They explained: “My theory is that an angel’s power has a limited power to alter reality.

“That’s how they manifest their wings, which are more a manifestation of divine power than actual physical wings. And it’s how Lucifer manifests his devil face.

“That power is deeply rooted in their subconscious. So when Amenadiel felt he no longer deserved to be an angel, he ‘fell’, and lost his powers.
