Legacies actor Jenny Boyd (Lizzie Saltzman) suggested that her character might explore her feelings for vampire friend Milton “MG” Greasley in Season 3.
“At the end of Season 2, we leave Lizzie having faked died and planned her own fake funeral,” Boyd recalled in an interview posted on The CW’s YouTube channel. “Being fake dead, she sees the way that a lot of her classmates honestly feel about her, which I think really shakes her and makes her realize that she still has a lot of work to do.”
Boyd explained that Lizzie’s bond with MG will play an important role in the series moving forward. “The one person who does really believe in her is MG,” the actor said. “And I think she, she sees that and realizes that her feelings for him, might be more than she initially realized.”
While MG has held a flame for Lizzie since Season 1, the witch has made a habit of taking advantage of MG’s loyalty whenever she needs something from him. Their relationship changed drastically after Lizzie siphoned power from MG by kissing him ahead of her merge with twin sister Josie.
Things between the pair grew more intense when Lizzie faked her death at the end of Season 2. When Lizzie and MG’s classmates started to complain about the presumed dead witch, MG came to her defense and called out their classmate for not allowing Lizzie the opportunity to change. Lizzie later showed her appreciation for MG by writing a eulogy, thanking him for being a great friend.
Boyd’s comments about Lizzie and MG came days after The CW revealed that a musical episode that was supposed to air during Season 2 of Legacies will now premiere in Season 3. The “Salvatore: The Musical!” episode will reportedly find the students at The Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted showing off their dancing and singing skills while paying tribute to both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals.
“Salvatore: The Musical” was supposed to air as Episode 19 in Season 2, but was postponed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic shut down in March 2020.
Legacies stars Danielle Rose Russell, Jenny Boyd, Kaylee Bryant, Quincy Fouse, Aria Shahghasemi, Peyton Alex Smith, Matt Davis, Chris Lee, Ben Levin and Leo Howard. Season 3 of Legacies premieres on Jan. 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
