Lucifer Morningstar and Chloe Decker may finally be getting their happily ever after at the end of the upcoming sixth season thanks to an intriguing clue spotted from behind the scenes.
The fifth season of Lucifer finally revealed the truth behind the devil’s signature black ring. Although Lucifer Morningstar (played by Tom Ellis) is rarely seen without the iconic jewellery in the Fox and Netflix series, a mysterious Instagram post may have revealed Chloe Decker (Lauren German) will somehow get her hands on Lilith’s secret of immortality.
‘Deckerstar’ could be destined to live on forever once the sixth and final season of Lucifer eventually comes to an end.
After wrapping production on Netflix’s hit fantasy series, new episodes will finally hit screens at the end of next month.
With Lucifer’s twin brother Michael defeated and things patched up with his dear old dad, God (Dennis Haysbert), viewers will quickly start up the hype for the show’s last hurrah.
The fan favourite pairing of Lucifer and his whip-smart detective partner Chloe Decker was finally made official at the start of season five.
However, many ‘Lucifans’ are concerned how their relationship will get resolved, considering the glaring discrepancy in their respective lifespans.
Thankfully, a convincing theory set up by the black and white noir special, ‘It Never Ends Well for the Chicken’, may have finally provided the answer.
During this hard boiled tale, Mazikeen star Lesley-Ann Brandt steps into the role of her character’s own mother, Lilith aka ‘Lily Rose’.
Masquerading as a popular cabaret singer, Adam’s first wife eventually decides to live among the mortals, placing her powers of immortality inside her ring, which she then gifts to Lucifer.
The crime-solving devil has worn the powerful accessory ever since, and popular theories suggest Mazikeen could eventually use it to obtain her own soul.
On the other hand, Lilith’s powers could be an ideal solution to Lucifer and Chloe’s current predicament.
Viewer speculation was sent into a frenzy when Lauren German was spotted on the set of Lucifer wearing the ring, though this version was coloured white.
The theory was recently revived on Reddit, when one fan realised the title for Lucifer’s guaranteed tear-jerker of a finale could be yet another clue.
User lurkingbees posted: “We’ve seen pictures of Lauren wearing Lucifer’s ring, meaning Chloe is wearing it for some reason.
“Does that mean they’re possibly going to make Chloe immortal to live forever with Lucifer?”
Although the jewellery seems to have miraculously changed colour, it certainly seems to match up with the unmistakable design of Lucifer’s ring.
Therefore, it could be possible that Mazikeen either abandons her search for a soul or finds one through a different method.
Plus, as the same fan noted: “The final episode is called ‘Partners ‘Til The End’.”
“So maybe it’s literally until the end and not of her dying of old age or anything?”
While a number of ‘Lucifans’ had money on ‘Deckerstar’ spending the rest of their days in Heaven, this alternate theory suggests Chloe could actually inherit Lilith’s immortality to live a long and happy life with Lucifer.
Lucifer Season 5, Part 2 will be released on Friday, May 28 on Netflix.
