Lucifer might have wrapped up, but that hasn’t stopped fans from hoping to see some of the characters again.
There have been rumours swirling about a spinoff show featuring Maze front and centre, and while that sounds amazing, how much truth is in it?
Showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson have opened up about the possibility, and it seems like there were definite plans early on to have a spinoff.
“I mean, honestly, especially early on, yes — and then one of the big things we focused on making sure we told as much story with all of our characters, knowing this was our one shot, as possible, and then finishing the season and then discussing any spinoffs after,” Henderson told TVLine.
“Especially once we made Maze a bounty hunter, all that stuff, we fantasy-created that show in our heads.
“There was a bunch of times, especially Seasons 2, 3 and 4, when we were saw all of the potential of these characters.”
However, as the series progressed, the focus shifted away from planning for possible spinoffs to instead focusing on each character’s story while they could.
“Then we sort of refocused on, “How do we make sure that we tell every story we can with them with the time we have?” And then if we are ever lucky to have future spinoffs, we will have to be clever enough to find a new story.”
So, not completely out of the realms of possibility then.
Bosses also discussed all the NSFW scenes they had to cut throughout the series, and it seems there were plenty.
