Since our childhood, we have been told stories of God and the Devil, how God is the ultimate creator of the universe, and his arch-rival – the Devil – who seeks to take control of the universe. Kids were told to behave well at all times, failing which either God will punish, or the devil will take them away. As we grew, we understood that these stories were mere fiction and bear no resemblance to reality.
But Netflix’s original series – Lucifer – intends to bring these tales alive. This urban fantasy series will take you to a time when the Devil himself decided to quit hell and live life among common people of the earth.
After serving his duties in hell, Lucifer Morningstar, one day, decided to quit hell and land into the city of angels – Los Angeles. His supernatural powers assisted him in manipulating people to reveal their deepest desires and solve a murder case with homicide detective of the LAPD, Chloe Decker.
Lucifer took a turn for the worst when his mother, the Goddess of Creation, descended on earth. Since hell was left unguarded, the Goddess came down for ensuing chaos in the lives of earthly people. To bring his mother to justice, Lucifer must make a deal with his father, God.
Lucifer was granted his wings back when a crime boss, who goes by the name The Sinnerman, arrives in Los Angeles and desires to take over the city. After learning the truth about Lucifer, Chloe feels hurt but eventually decides to work with him to take down the criminal boss once and for all.
Still in shock after knowing the true identity of Lucifer, Chloe starts questioning her choices about Lucifer, doubting whether he is actually good at heart or it was an act all along. In the meantime, chaos ensues in the life of Lucifer when his former love interest, Eve, pays him a visit on earth.
Lucifer decides to return to hell. Chloe finds it difficult to deal with Lucifer’s absence. To make things worse comes Michael, Lucifer’s twin brother. He presents himself as Lucifer and damages his relationship with everyone he holds dear. Eventually, Lucifer decides to come back and picks up a fight with Michael head-on. In the meantime, God decides to find someone capable of taking over the throne as his successor.
