Lucifer actor Lesley-Ann Brandt has taken to social media to tease her fans about her next big TV role and where you can catch it.
Lesley-Ann played the role of Mazikeen (Maze) on the devilish Lucifer since joining the show in 2016. The actress won fans over, and despite being a demon child of Lilith, her heart was in the right place and viewers of the show will be delighted to know that she will be back on their screens soon.
Ending its sixth season on Netflix, the 40-year-old actress appeared in over 90 episodes of Lucifer.
Going from her hell-raising season one persona to settling down to finally marry Eve (played by Inbar Lavi), fans couldn’t get enough of her.
She has recently revealed that she has been busy working on a brand new TV show.
Sharing a series of photos with her 3.2 million Instagram followers, she let slip that fans won’t have to wait long to see her on tv.
The caption of the post read: “The Lake will air Friday February 4th on @amc_tv.”
The three photos show an array of emotions, with the actress examining a bruise on her ribs in the first image, an alcoholic drink in another and looking rundown and weary in the third.
Followers of the South-African performer leapt at the news leaving their messages of excitement.
Loyal fan ilymaze_ said: “You best believe if you in that show I definitely watching it.”
“Cant wait to see you again, I miss you so so much,” @adrysza commented.
Excited to see her again but missing her previous character @k8_logic added: “But but but… I miss Maze.”
Lucifer survived two cancellations to be revived twice, with Maze’s depth growing in each season.
Hoping it will get its third reincarnation, fans have started a petition for a seventh series and for the show to make it to 100 episodes.
Lesley-Ann has previously explained how excited she was to secure such a physically demanding role.
“I’m very fortunate, I’m someone that picks up choreography really quickly. The stunt coordinator would always laugh and be like, ‘You move too quickly,'” she told People.
Describing the process behind bringing the character to life, she divulged that she moved from the “crotch”.
“I always feel like as a character, she lives with her crotch. She’s a leg spreader,” she continued.
Ending with: “Her fighting style was dirty as well. I feel like Tom [Ellis, who plays Lucifer] is sort of David Bowie with a martini, and Maze is like, ‘Headbutt, kick to the nuts.’ You know?”
In March 2021, the star shared a long heartfelt Instagram post to end her run on the show, signing it off with her appreciation for the show’s fans.
“To the fans, none of it was possible without you. You embraced us and a demon with heart. I love you. Simply and deeply, with my all, thank you. LAB,” she said with love
Lesley-Ann is yet to comment on if she would return to the role of Maze if it was picked up again but fans would certainly want to see her step into the role one more time.
Lucifer seasons 1-3 are now available to stream.
