In honor of the show’s last table read, producer Joe Henderson shared in his social media profiles a throwback photo of Lucifer’s cast and crew at its very first table read.
As Lucifer wraps its final season, its showrunner memorializes its humble beginnings.
Co-showrunner Joe Henderson posted a photo on Twitter of the Lucifer’s first table read, after the cast and crew finished their final table read for its sixth and final season on Netflix.
Just had the final table read of #Lucifer ever. All the emotions. Love this incredible family. Since I can’t share a picture of it for spoiler reasons, here is the first table read (after the pilot). We’ve come a long way… pic.twitter.com/Qw8quCJNT7

In the photo, season regulars Tom Ellis (Lucifer), D.B. Woodside (Amenadiel), Kevin Alejandro (Det. Dan Espinoza) and Lesley-Ann Brandt (Mazikeen) adorned in her iconic half-demon makeup face are seen over cups of coffee and smiling with their Season 1 scripts.
Season 5a of Lucifer debuted on Netflix in August 2020, ending with a devilish cliffhanger. Last fans saw of the devilish detective, he came face-to-face with his angelic brothers Michael, Amenadiel and their father, God (Dennis Haysbert). “Dear Old Dad,” arrived to stop the impending fight that erupted over Lucifer and Amenadiel’s fear that Michael had somehow hurt — or will — hurt Charlie, Amenadiel’s seemingly mortal son.
Time froze during the battle due to an enraged Amenadiel using his powers right as Lucifer was finally going to tell Chloe Decker he loves her.
Although Season 5b and Season 6 have yet to receive an official release date — due to COVID-19 related delays — Henderson has shared some details about what fans can expect in the upcoming episodes and final season. Among other threads, Henderson teased that Season 5b will explore Lucifer as the “wayward son” finally coming to terms with his strained relationship with his father. Recently, Mazikeen star Lesley Ann-Brandt also revealed that her character won’t end up becoming the Queen of Hell by the show’s end. Brandt added, however, that she’d “definitely” be in for a series spinoff focused on Maze’s journies in Hell.
Lucifer stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, Lauren German as Det. Chloe Decker, D.B. Woodside as Amenadiel, Rachael Harris as Dr. Linda Martin, Kevin Alejandro as Det. Dan Espinoza, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen Smith and Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez. The first half of Season 5 is now streaming on Netflix.
