After fifteen seasons, Supernatural is coming to an end. And longtime star Misha Collins hinted that fans are in for a bittersweet, emotional final season.
In a behind-the-scenes featurette for the final season, Collins teased that the season would be filled with goodbyes and resurrections of departed characters, returning from the grave for one last reunion with Sam and Dean Winchester. Collins promised that the final season “feels like a real emotional ride” and that “there’s gonna be a lot of tears” involved with the finale.
Season 15 opened with God unleashing evil souls from Hell upon the Earth after the Winchesters failed to kill Him in the Season 14 finale. Together with Collins’ wayward angel Castiel, the brothers are all that stands in the way of preventing yet another apocalypse.
By the series’ end, Supernatural will become the longest-running paranormal/sci-fi series in American broadcast history. Stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki announced earlier this year that the upcoming fifteenth season would be its last as fans brace themselves for one last ride with the monster-hunting Winchesters.
Airing Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, the final season of Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins and Alexander Calvert.
