Outlander fans have been flocking to Glasgow city centre to see Sam Heughan’s new cheeky billboard that has appeared in George Square.
The huge advertisement, which covers an entire building facing the square at the corner of North Frederick Street and George Street, promotes Men In Kilts: A Road Trip With Sam and Graham, starring him and fellow Outlander actor Graham McTavish.
The eight-part travel docu-series saw the pair travel across Scotland, exploring our history and culture, and as you’d expect, the show and accompanying book have both proved to be a hit with fans of the TV show based on Diana Gabaldon’s novel series.
And, in what could only be described as a move of marketing genius, it features both actors dressed in kilts that blow in the stereotypical Glasgow breeze.
Sam himself gave his fans a peek at the billboard by venturing along yesterday to take some snaps in front of it, which he then shared on Twitter with the caption: “Apparently there’s this new show on Starz Play about two men… in kilts!
“Nice to see in George Square, Glasgow. Where else have you seen them?”

And that was enough to set the heather of the Scottish hills well and truly on fire among Outlander fans, with those living in Glasgow flocking along to slap eyes on the advertisement – and make their hearts flutter in the process!
One fan who spotted video footage of the billboard online took to Twitter to write: “OMG! There is this huge awesome ad for Men In Kilts up in Glasgow, and God knows what strong winds will do to those kilts! Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish both looking so cool! Hurray for bonnie Scotland!”
Another wrote: “This should be left up permanently and added to the list of attractions in Glasgow.”
Hats off to the marketing team for coming up with this one!
