Outlander star Sam Heughan has delighted fans with some throwback photos from his younger years.
The Outlander actor took part in the ‘teenage dirtbag’ TikTok trend which has seen several celebrities reminiscing over their youth by posting old photos. The 42-year-old shared a video on social media alongside the iconic Wheetus hit as he gave fans a sneak peek into life as a teenager before fame.
Sam posted the pic montage with the caption: “Teenage dirtbag baby!”
In the first pic, a very young Sam Heughan is proudly showing off a fish that he caught. In another photo Sam can be seen with a mid parting in a football strip alongside some pals in what appears to be his early teenage years.
A commenter jokes: “that is the only time a male holding a fish has not given me the ick,” while another pointed out that “every guy has to have a fish photo”.
However, Sam also included some photos from his early acting days in his twenties.
In one photo the actor sports a shorter haircut and is wearing what looks like an old fashioned aviation suit. It appears similar to the costume he wore in the 2010 dramatisation of the Battle of Britain, First Light. Sam would have been around 29 or 30.
And one of the pics Sam dawns glasses, a beard, and a very serious look. The selfie also shows much longer hair than we are used to seeing.
Sam brought this look to the big screen in the 2016 American fantasy comedy-drama film, When the Starlight Ends. The montage closes with Sam kitted up as Jamie from Outlander’s first season in 2014. This was when Sam was 34-years-old, although he could have fooled some.
Sam has remained in the role since and will portray the character in the confirmed seventh season of Outlander.
