The Scots actor has raised a phenomenal amount of money through his organisation, which sees ‘Peakers’ set themselves challenges to raise money for good causes.
Outlander actor Sam Heughan has raised a whopping £590,000 for charity this year, with the help of his organisation My Peak Challenge, which he founded in 2017. Fellow members – known as Peakers – set themselves a challenge, physical or otherwise, in a bid to raise cash.
Between filming Outlander and running a very successful whisky business, Sam always makes sure he finds the time to work out with My Peak Challenge.
And since the organisation began, they have raised around $6.9m (£5.8m) for good causes. This year alone, Peakers have raised over $711k (£592k) and planted 607,000 trees.
A delighted Sam took to Instagram to share the great news with his fans, writing: “$6.9M raised for chosen charities! 607,000 trees planted! Over 2 Billion steps What a year @mypeakchallenge!
“What Peakers we have! I couldn’t be more proud of everything we have accomplished. As we reach the end of MPC2022 and in honor of #GivingTuesday, we are reflecting on what an incredible year this was for our #Peaker community!”
