Skeet Ulrich announced was not a secre. In February he already said, that he would be leaving Riverdale after filming its upcoming fifth season.
And Skeet Ulrich said goodbye to the long-running CW series on Thursday to mark his last day on set.
The 50-year-old actor, who played the father of Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse), shared a moody image of himself standing on the dividing line of a road at night while backlit in the fog by two cars’ headlights.
‘Goodbye Riverdale…thank you for introducing me to some lifelong friendships and so many beautiful souls,’ Skeet wrote.
‘Today is my last day on set but the experience will never leave my heart ❤️ Thank you to all of you for the love and support.’
Lili Reinhart, who stars as Betty, teased him on his last day: ‘I’ll severely miss all the dad jokes.’
His costar Vanessa Morgan reacted to the post by commenting, ‘No!!’ while Madelaine wrote, ‘I love you,’ with a broken-heart emoji.
Skeet joined Riverdale as a recurring cast member in the first season, but he was bumped up to a series regular starting with season two.
He portrayed Forsythe Pendleton Jones II, though his character went by FP on the series.

In order to fit Riverdale’s dark tone, his character was reimagined as the leader of a criminal motorcycle gang.
He was originally friends with Archie’s father Fred Andrews, who was played by the late Luke Perry, but the two had a falling out.
Gina Gershon, who plays his wife Gladys Jones, will be sticking with Riverdale.
‘Ive enjoyed being married and having our fabulous fake kids together. Me and Mr. Jones forever❤️❤️❤️,’ she commented on his farewell post.
In February, both Skeet and his costar Marisol Nichols, who plays Veronica’s mother Hermione, announced that they were departing the series after finishing season five.
She offered her own farewell to him in the comments: ‘Love you Skeet. Can’t wait for the world to see you’re [sic] upcoming projects ❤️.’
In May, Skeet revealed on Instagram Live during a show with his ex Megan Blake Irwin that he was leaving Riverdale because he felt his character had gotten stale.
‘I’m leaving Riverdale because I got bored creatively,’ he explained. ‘How’s that? That’s the most honest answer,’ he said, according to Variety.
That didn’t stop the Scream actor from having a good time, as he did in a joking Instagram photo from last week.
‘It’s always fun doing scenes with @madchenamick her stillness is magnetic,’ he jokingly captioned a photo of himself sitting on a folding chair in a school auditorium next to a mannequin in a dress.
Skeet was featured in April on the Quibi series #FreeRayshawn, and he’ll be appearing in the science fiction film Bios next year among a stacked cast featuring Tom Hanks, Caleb Landry Jones, Samira Wiley and Laura Harrier.
