Kaley Cuoco has ruled out a major character’s return for The Flight Attendant’s second season.
The Big Bang Theory star, who executive produces and stars as Cassie Bowden, has confirmed that Michiel Huisman is unlikely to reprise his role as Alex Sokolov.
In news that is not altogether unsurprising – seeing as Alex is, you know, dead – Kaley told Entertainment Weekly that she “doesn’t think” the character will return when The Flight Attendant does.
Although Huisman’s character was killed off in the drama’s first episode, he often appeared as a figment of Cassie’s imagination, as she tried to come to terms with being a suspect in his murder.
Cassie’s subconscious will be back, though, so it’s not an entirely done deal. “Cassie is going to have to face some of her own demons in the mind palace, especially now trying to stay sober,” Kaley added.
After a second season for The Flight Attendant was given the green light, it was confirmed that co-showrunners Meredith Lavender and Marcie Ulin would be leaving the series.
Instead, Queen of the South’s executive producer Natalie Chaidez will now serve as the show’s new co-showrunner, alongside playwright Steve Yockey.
