The Flash spoilers follow.

The Flash’s latest season 8 episode threw a big twist in the works by revealing that the Black Flame is none other than Ronnie Raymond, back from the dead again. Or, at least, it sure sounds like him.

Robbie Amell has indeed returned for a few more episodes, and while he isn’t able to reveal everything about the upcoming episode airing tonight (April 12) in the US, he was able to tell TVLine a few juicy titbits.

He revealed that the upcoming episode begins with a flashback set in 2012, detailing Ronnie’s first meeting with Caitlin, with other flashbacks chronicling their relationship sprinkled throughout the episode.

“Danielle and joked around about how we definitely didn’t look the same age we did when the flashbacks are supposed to take place,” he said.

“I thought that was really cute. They did a good job of showing you the spark between them from that you didn’t see in season 1. It was really charming.”

The episode will also find the team divided on just what’s going on with this apparent resurrection, with Caitlin firmly believing that it makes scientific sense (within their superhero world, of course).

“I’ve died three times on the show already – or was it four?” Amell noted. “So if I’m able to come back that many times, this shouldn’t be that surprising. [But] it’s tough to trust a giant black flame, skull-looking thing. It doesn’t really paint a cozy picture! I would be a little skeptical if I were them.”

The Flash airs on The CW in the US, and on Sky Max in the UK.
