Netflix has released a new teaser for season 2 of The Witcher in which we get a first look at one of the disgusting new monsters Geralt is going to fight.
In a new short clip shared by the streamer on social media, we see the valiant Witcher (played by Henry Cavill) face off against a giant bug.
Called the Myriapod, this mutant-earwig-looking thing can be seen attacking Geralt in the forest. But most interesting is what Geralt uses to defend himself.
New monsters await. Are you ready? ⚔️

In addition to his usual sword, Geralt is using a Quen sign to create a temporary shield. His weapon also seems to light up in an orange glow and might be in some enchanted state in order to defeat the beast.
And if this foe isn’t scary enough, fans of the video game saga will be familiar with an even bigger version of the monster called the Viy of Maribor. So that’s a nightmare ready to meet you tonight.
To find out just how Geralt plans to squish an insect that can throw him across a forest (maybe he can conjure a giant cup?) we will have to wait until the new season starts streaming, which won’t be long now.
Meanwhile, the show has already given us some insight into four new characters as well as the plot of the premiere episode.
“Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden. Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen,” the official synopsis reads.
“While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
The Witcher season 1 is now streaming worldwide on Netflix. Season 2 will premiere on December 17, 2021.
